Music Ministries at Central United Methodist Church

GENESIS  CHOIR

Age requirement: Second grade to sixth grade.
A fun filled-hour of singing, drama and musical games.
We meet on Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm in the music room.

The children learn vocal techniques and begin note reading in a fun way. They sing once a month at both worship services - 9:30 and 11:00am. The choir members sing at nursing homes during the Christmas season. They participate in the Sunday school Christmas Pageant. They are responsible for a Spring Musical and participate in the All Choirs Concert in the spring. We end the year with a pool party and barbeque.

WESLEYAN  BELL  CHOIR

Requirements: Must be able to read music at an intermediate level.
This choir meets on Thursday evenings at 6:15pm in the music room.

The Wesleyan Choir is made up of 11 adults. Three octaves of  handbells are used in our choir. The group plays a variety of pieces including story songs, hymns and   classical music. The Wesleyan is our intermediate bell choir.

SENIOR  CHOIR

Requirements: A love for singing,  ability to read music is not necessary
but a very helpful tool.  Ages 18 and up.
The Senior Choir meets on Thursday evenings at 7:30pm in the music room.
The membership in this group is 45 members and growing every day!

The choir sings a variety of music. They sing at the 9:30 and 11:00am worship services. They perform a different Christmas Cantata every year. The choir participates in the All Choir Concert in the spring. This year we are in the process of lining up outside performances throughout the year. We have a Christmas Party and always have great fellowship time.

PRAISE  TEAM

Requirements: A love of contemporary music and a good blending voice;
the ability to read music and improvise an extensive knowledge of chords and theory.

Praise Team rehearsal is at 7:00 on Tuesday nights.
